Protected bay with preserved nature in North Dalmatia
Zminjak is only a couple of minutes away from Murter by the boat. Murter is a village having the same name as the island, which is a part of Šibenik archipelago in Dalmatia.
Village Murter is a starting point to one of the most beautiful and most known Mediterranean archipelagos - national park Kornati.
Kornati islands are, from the beginning of the 17th century, an integral part of Murter's social and spiritual community, as the people
from Murter own majority of them.
Murter is near Šibenik (30 km), Biograd (30 km), Zadar (65 km) and only
330 km away from the capital Zagreb.
The island of Murter is connected to the mainland with a lifting bridge that is closed for vehicles every day during summer period from 09:00-09:30 and 17:00-17:30. Therefore, it is convenient to arrive using highway A1 Zagreb - Split and take exit Pirovac. The nearest airports are in Zadar (65km) and Split (105 km).
You can easily visit nearby national parks Kornati (by the boat from Murter), Krka and Paklenica, as well as park of nature "Vransko jezero". Visit to the Plitvice lakes National Park takes about two hours drive. We recommend to visit Hawk centre in Dubrava near Šibenik and visit to cities Zadar and Split.
